New York City is always amazing in the summer, but now even more. Whether you live in this great metropolis or happen to vacation here at some point during the rest of July, you're in for a special treat.  The French Institute is offering a select run of two French films (with English subtitles) to round out the month.

Cool off at beautiful facilities at the organization's mid-town location for either "A Faithful Man" or "Coincoin and the Extra Humans."  The former is a look at the search for true love through a character named Abel, played by actor Louis Garrel. Nine years after his lover Marianne (played by Laetitia Casta) leaves him for another man, the funeral of the man for which she left him brings the two together again. Not without complexities, the couple is confronted with the young sister of Marianne's now deceased lover who, now an adult, pursues Abel with total abandon. Lily-Rose Depp (yes, of that famous couple) is an ideal pick as for this wily character who is part of the entire journey of machinations that shows us just how much a roller-coaster ride love can be. The young actor Joseph Engel who plays Marianne's son is a particular stand-out in this film who instantly captures with his quiet intensity no matter in which scene he is featured. If aliens are more your thing, perhaps take in the latter which release materials say is "a farcical follow-up to Bruno Dumont's celebrated mini-series, 'Li'l Quinquin,' the eponymous character (Alane Delhaye) is all grown up and goes by the nickname of Coincoin. He bangs out on the Cote D'Opale and attends meetings of the Nationalist party. When a strange magma is found near the town, its inhabitants start to behave weirdly and quickly begin to suspect an alien attack."
