Our guide then took us to one of the Sultan's former palaces which is stunning.

An hour drive away from Muscat is Sifawy Hotel and beach which is a new development that consists of luxury vacation condominiums and a glamorous hotel.

The scenic hills and plentiful goats along the hour-long route takes one back to a time long ago. Until, as if by magic, 

The exquisite property appears, complete with its own private harbor and private beach right along the Arabian Gulf.
